anyone know a reliable one? will involve some fault finding, not just a shrug of the head.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

On a serious note - try Jim'll Fix It - bit more expensive than the normal (morons) but worth it.

As an aside, we're currently in the process of having some curtains and blinds fitted. They're here now. Highly recommended, been doing this for 30years etc...

When the guy came to measure up and show us the swatches, I gave him a bit of paper with all the measurements. He then took his own and went away. Guess what..?

I know I seems like a moany old fk but I really seem to attract the s.

i rang these guys on thursday night:

042 380 088

and made an appointment for saturday at 9:30. first surprise was the plumber turned up on the dot [so my flatmate tells me, i was dead to the world from overbrunching] and fixed the leak. he's coming back midweek with parts for the immersion heater. so far, so good.

ps - company is:

http://www.howdra.ae/

they are also re-sealing a basin and doing some tiling, so should have a good idea of their competency by the weekend.

Hmm.. I've failed so far to get the management company of the building I am in to sort lack of hot water in the kitchen, (literally barely dribbles out of the tap) so maybe I'll just have to ring one of these guys myself..

The stop tap on the inlet to the heater is open isn't it?

Don't think so.. I'll check. Plenty of hot water elsewhere, just not in the kitchen..

if you can get into your roofspace, have a look where the pipes go.

forgot to update. plumber came back exactly when he said he would [in fact was 20mins early]. we had a new 80litre immersion heater fitted, misc fittings and pipes, and shower tray resealed. including making good the bill was AED1250. i would recommend these guys [3 filipinos, nice guys].
