Was with Etisalat before and they were useless. Moved to The Springs and went with Du. Set up was painless, everything worked from the start and never an issue.

Moving today (joyfrown) so we'd gone into the main branch near the Dusit to sugn up to eLife. 3-5 working days for connection, was given the card with the password and all that stuff.

Guess what? After not hearing a peep from them to install, they now have no record of us ever applying. The application form copy we have has a couple of stamps with various numbers on them but nothing they can find our details with. They can't find the details with our name, address or any other personal details and the card they gave us doesn't help either.

Why is it you can plan ahead to the best of your ability yet they still screw it completely up.

I work from home and we probably wont have any interneet now for another week. Looks like the local coffee shop is going to be seeing a lot off me in the short term.

i feel your pain. had a new one yesterday:

bought new mirrors and some other bits from demon tweeks. rang them first to make sure it was ok then ordered online using my uae barclaycard. barclays call me later that afternoon to confirm my use of the card overseas, which i naturally authorised. i then got a call from tweeks saying the payment was cancelled/unauthorised!

bloody annoying as they will only ship to the registered card address on first order so can't use shop & ship.

Where do I start? My Du internet hasn't worked for about a month now. Getting them to fix it was such a PITA, I simply bought an ipad and use that. Still paying for the home connection and can't use it, but i'd rather that than have to speak to them. I'll cancel it after 12 months.

What are you ordering Phil... might be able to get it from the UK to DXB on March 13th if you could get it to my sister's place?

Her luggage allowance is only 20kg though, so anything big / heavy's probably out.
