Decent butcher in Dubai

Is there one? Went to the one at the Gold and Diamond Park today, but wouldn't bother going back.

Depends on what you're looking for. Good meat can be had from the Organic supermarkets, but expensive. There's sometimes decent stuff in Lulu in Al Barsha, but the best is the stuff you buy from the Iranian butcher at Shindaga market. Worth a visit and a nose around. Good fish and decent veg too.

Slightly OT, but have you been to the fruit and veg market off the 311? You can fill you car up for about 130 chips, and it's 5 times cheaper than any supermarket.

Yes, been to the fruit and veg market and the fish market at Shindaga. Didn't know there was a butcher there but will try that.

Am looking for a decent joint to roast.

The butcher in Park and Shop (the original one on Al Wasl) was a Dubai institution but I believe he passed away quite recently.

What about the counter at the Butchers Shop and Grill, either Mirdiff City Centre, Mall of Emirates or JBR depending where you are.

Butcher shop and gril steak house in MIrdif City Center and Maul of Emirates sell steak.
There is also a South African buthers near Speedex that is supposed to be good (but I've not tried it).

Pop into your nearest one for a chat with one of his lads behind the counter.
