engine oil

the warning light on billybob came on this morning, didn't realise it had got so low. time for an oil/filter change.

where's best for buying decent oil at a reasonable price? would prefer the likes of mobil 1.

also what grade should i go upto from OEM? jeep recommend 5W20 but i would imagine we need a more viscous oil given the temps we experience.

Gaffer will say Castrol from Saluki

Aggreko will say Valvoline

I have the same Shell oil as at Spencers house which is sat doing nothing. I will check its rating tonight.

nearly a self face palm there, but it seems i asked about a diesel defender and the clubman

think that shell stuff is 10W60 race oil. i'll also have a read of the label[doing the compression test later if rich isn't on pancake duty]. chucked a litre of cheap stuff from ENOC in at lunch but would prefer some decent fully synth. all the valvoline stuff i know of is for diesel.

Will hopefully be round later myself, Rich is confirmed (wonder if will bring pancakes with him?). I will chuck some oil in for you (when I can find it....)
