Best bar for Dubai views?
Discussion
Hoping some of the more social members of PH can help me out.
As I'm not someone who frequents Dubai's watering holes very often, my knowledge of the best bars in town is rather limited.
My brother is due in town in the coming weeks and I wanted to show him some of the sights. So does anyone have any suggestions as to the best bars in town for the signature 'Dubai skyline' view?
Cheers

OR,
if you wanna be posh and have the cash: make a booking for the Burj Alarab. Sit upstairs in the cigar shaped lounge, pay AED80 for a simple G&T (this was 4 years ago!) but the views are awesome.

Was seriously underwhelmed by the Sky Bar, granted it was 3 years since I went, but was minimum 250 dhs spend (which I got 3 drinks for) but wasn't that taken with the view.
Plus the windows were filthy which didn't help.
I agree with 6th Gear. Either 360 or Nasimi Beach at this end of town or the Park Hyatt for the creek.
Also, the pool bar on the top of the Hilton Dubai Creek (although small) has an unbeatable view of the creek with the skyline in the distance.

I was best man at my mates wedding last year and he is stopping over in Dubai with his wife on the way back from their (slightly delayed) honeymoon. They are taking me out for drinks at the Burj Al Arab (their idea). I'll report back!

Bar on the 24th floor of the jumeirah beach hotel.
Can't remember the name of it, but a great view over the burj kalifa.
Actually, a good night all round- quick bite to eat at the veranda- nice piece of veal for about 60 chips, overlooking the burj al Arab (bloody close actually) then on to the 24th floor for far too much gin and tonic, and a good view of the rest of town and the kalifa.

drinks at the Burj Al Arab . . . I'll report back!
Well, I thought it was really good (but, to be fair, I wasn't the one paying the bill). In particular, the service was absolutely faultless. Our waiter was a genuinely nice bloke from Nepal and didn't bat an eyelid when we started ordering cocktails that weren't on the menu. In fact, all the staff were fantastic and I guess this is the main reason they use to justify their self-proclaimed seven star status.
I liked the views. We sat by the windows and got a fab view right up the beach road with the Burj Khalifa in the distance. I prefer high-up views during the daytime but this was a pretty decent view at night.
If I was being picky, some aspects of the decor weren't to everyone's taste . . . but it's certainly very striking and I don't think you'd get away with plain old 'nice' in a hotel like this.
Just my two penn'orth. Can't see me going back again every Friday though.
Gatecrashing the Burj is much more fun.
Crashed over when mates were staying in the hotel on honeymoon (no, not like that) after attending a Sandance. We had great fun running round the panoramic suite, took ages to get from one end by the window, up the winding stairs and a lap of the bedroom.
Cazzy and me found it hilarious - then again we were drunk off free champagne.
Even the butlers at 4am were polite and brought us our requested chip butties
