I took the dogs out wearing shorts this morning.

Error, the poor little bds got dragged round, was distinctly Pearl Harbour.

it was effing freezing sitting at DA yesterday at the Oval Circuit. The wind was right at you the whole damn afternoon. Not shivered like that for a very long time.

i wore a jacket to work today*. i am not liking this weather at all.

* okay, this was partly due to me thinking a bit of tweed would offset my new billybob image

Today I have a t-shirt under my shirt, and I haven't taken my suit jacket off. Of course it's the Man-Flu and not that I'm a big girls blouse, you understand.

hilariously. i am developing a love for the thing already. still unsure about the light bar but have nowhere to put it for now [maids room has a stack of wheels and a set of ITB's crowning my other junk]. i still smile in a WTF way when i see it on a morning, and it is a lot of fun to tool around in.

most amusing moment so far was getting compliments from an arab guy outside the trailer shop nr the airport, then getting in, switching on and having sclub7 blast out from 92fm to ruin my cool...

have got some odd jobs to do as follows:

some of the wiring is poor to say the least. actually quite bizarrely so. e.g. front spots wired into the harness correctly with the right relays, but the spots themselves have been connected by removing the sheathing from the live cable and just wrapping the spot wire around. not on my car thanks! have got a ratchet crimper, some wire and connectors and will be redoing the lot.

rear bumper has a tow hitch but it's not located onto the chassis legs. doing a drawing tonight and will get one of the subbies to fab it up for me tomorrow. then will sandblast / powdercoat and re-fit. same for the front bumper as the brush guard is cracking and hasn't been well thought out.

get a hose made up for the onboard compressor and figure out how it works.

make a mount on the rollcage for the hi-lift jack and a removable storage unit to replace the rear seat for trackdays. also need a cheap jerry can as not paying 350dhs for one [yorkshire!]

go offroad! had a brief excursion in the sand yesterday but planning on a trip with some experienced guys from work on sat. would be well up for a PH desert trip if we can assemble enough suitable vehicles.

Got a thin jumper on today and had to turn the temp control in the car from cold to the middle - first time for that too.

I was starting to wonder if I was living in a different country all of a sudden, roof off, windows down, short sleeve shirt here, this is a lovely temperature, I'd be happy if it stayed at this all year round.

Nice one, from what I understand they are simple enough vehicles to work on if you are mechanically minded (which I am not).

I'm really struggling to understand why 17 degrees celcius in Glasgow feels positively tropical but 17 degress in Dubai means I need the heater in the car on FULL POWER.

I was working on an outside event in Abu Dhabi over the weekend. Cold plus very windy - we reckon it was around 5C early morning (we did +36 hours with snatches of sleep)with the wind chill factored in. We were fully fleeced up with skiing beanies.
