Took the new toy for a play in the empty quarter this weekend.....
Apparently, whilst they may be good in the mud (my UK one proved unstoppable on the Plain at Christmas) they're not so good in the sand.
300km on the back of a recovery truck later, Saluki have another job to do for me!!

Not sure why, but it's leaking coolant faster than I can pour it in.... from a brief look underneath it appears to be a water pump seal, but I'm not sure.
As to how it happened, I've no idea, I did get it a little stuck and was working it quite hard, but didn't overheat anything and it had been running fine.
Either way, decided it was safer to get a recovery truck back to Dubai before I did any permanent damage, it's at Saluki now, hopefully nothing too serious as I need it on Wednesday night!!

After my earlier claims that the Nissan Sunny makes a perfect off road vehicle, I now retract that statement (or at least the insurance company do). Been out of action for a couple of weeks now waiting for new parts to come in.
I then took my courtesy car (Honda City) out to the desert to do some Quad biking, and got that stuck in the sand.

s!
sorry to hear that. where was it parked and who's wife have you been boffing?
dusty's jeep was keyed a while back, but the potential culprits [labourers, subcontractors, clients...] were too numerous to narrow it down.
seriously, hope it's not too expensive to sort. has it gone down to the base layer?

I'm pretty certain that it happened whilst the car was parked on my driveway overnight.
I popped to Spinneys earlier in the evening but the marks are so obvious that I'm sure I would have seen them when I came back to the car if it had happened then.
The 3" key on the rear quarter is all the way through to the plastic panel underneath and the 8" long one on the driver's door is almost as deep.
I suspect that the entire nearside of the car will need spraying to be honest, do I need a police report for vandalism or can I just get a bodyshop to fix it?
And Phil..... no wives have been boffed in the making of this damage (sadly, that might have made it worth it!!)

i seriously doubt a bodyshop would require a slip. who is RSPhil using to spray his 912? i'd ask them fora quote, i read that polimar are also good.
hope it doesn't sting the wallet too badly del. however if you are having a spray then take advantage by doing the autodrome track evening on thursday and having any stonechips touched up at the same time
