Visa run

Looks like I'll be heading to Oman in the morning for a visa stamp for the F-I-L. Does anyone know...

a) Where is best to go
b) How long it takes
c) Do I have to lie about my intentions
d) Anything to do there or do I just turn around and come back again?

Just head for Hatta and go through the UAE border there. Pay Dhs 200.00 for an Omani visa (depending on nationality), get Omani entry stamp, turn around, get Omani exit stamp, get UAE entry stamp, go home. Go to brunch. Simples.

Yup, you can be completely honest with the Omani border guys as well, they don't give 2 fks.

Is the person doing the run a British passport holder?

If you leave early doors on a Friday, say 7, you can be home for 11 easy without driving like a knob.

The "guy" is a New Zealand passport holder.

I've been to Hatta (the Wadi's) before and never got stamped or anything...I guess it's a different place then?

Just keep driving, you pass Hatta on the way, just follow Oman signs, a few more kms the other side of Hatta
