Fujairah or Jordan?
Discussion
Long way off, but the options being discussed for me are Fujairah or Jordan for my next assignment come mid/end 2012.
Fujairah - I've been to Mussandam before, and Oman - and liked the scenery, much more interesting than flat sand. I hear there's a new Highway too linking to Dubai in 30 minutes (dependant on number of Land Cruisers on their roofs I assume). I guess it's commutable from certain locations in Dubai.
Jordan - I know less about, apart from knowing a few guys from there who seem to like it (Tensai Tuning guys).
Can anyone offer any opinions? Long way off yet, but probably time to start 'steering' the decision.

I like Jordan, been a few times on both business and for a break.
The driving is worse than here, doesn't seem to be lanes really, just drive where you fancy. Hotels still had metal detectors at the entrances last year so I guess there is an underlying threat of something kicking off. Haven't looked into the politics of the country to know if they are due an Arab Spring or not.
Climate is much nicer than here - proper cold during the winter but lovely in the summer.
Lots to see and do thanks to the Romans and the Crusaders and the nightlife I saw was surprisingly good.
