You weren't by chance looking at a blue and white cater-field type car in the Ranches earlier this evening where you?

Ha! I live about ten doors down and always wondered what was under that chap's tarp.

I drove past, saw him showing someone around it and remembered your reference to a 'blue and white' something or other...

Deal done...or do I have time to knock round and gazump you?!

small world! spotted some very nice motors along your road, including a chap washing a black 993 and a phantom drophead playing wallflower.

please no gazumping, it's taken me this long to decide already!

makes a lot of sense. proper track car + commuter/tow/desert 4x4. i do need to find somewhere i could store a trailer though, pref. where i could work on the car if needed. any ideas?

Storage not sure, but not uncommon for cars to be left parked on trailers, just get a big lock.

For areas other than your own drive / garage for doing any work.
Sorry mate, question has been discussed a few times on "another forum" there doesn't seem to be anywhere.
Ramp rental like you get in the US (and now in UK) doesn't exist out here.

i'll ring around A2B etc. sent claire an email a few days ago <cough>. failing that, i think i can increase our security guard's salary by 100AED a month for a second spot.

a2b got out of hand and they had two adjacent wharehouse at there old shop filled with various projects.
However think it was favours and more of a ball ache than profit or even bussiness plan.
Think they are trying to stop that at there new place, but not sure.

Sorry Shirt - not been picking up my emails for the past few days as I have a visitor at the moment.

Will give you a call later on tonight smile or will chat tomorrow if you are still coming to the race.

no worries. was going to come to the rally tomorrow for a chat but will now likely be chasing this and tow car options.

well don't all faint at once, but i now have a car [albeit a non road legal one].

did the deal over the phone yesterday, taking a deposit around tomorrow and the seller is giving me a week's grace to find a tow car and somewhere to keep it, so will be collecting fri/sat.

a friend has an unused space in JBR car park she says i can have for free, so just need to find a tow car. looking for a desert ready jeep or land rover, ideally under 40k. pipe up if you spot anything suitable,

oh, and a happy new year to you all. hope 2012 is a good one for everybody!

Congratulations - what is the car under the tarp by the way?

p.s not quite under 40k but it looks a cracker and he'd probably take 47/48 - plus you'll lose bob-all on it over a couple of years.

one of the ex-autodrome gts clubmans. it's seen 3 trackdays since the seller bought it, and he's fitted new 15" OZ wheels and toyo r888's, quaife lsd, quickrack, water rail, new shocks/springs, lights and bought a set of ITB's he's throwing into the deal. the trailer is also included.

good deal i reckon, v.chuffed. birthday presents are so much better when you buy them yourself!

I got some video footage of it at one of the Track days - followed it around for a lap.

So, you will be at the Track Day on this Friday?

hope this is the one?

i'll have to take a look then! seller told me that before the suspension/lsd were sorted, he spun it 8 times in one session! doubt i'll be pressing anywhere near the limit to begin with though, prob end up getting some tuition too.

Race gear is sold locally at either Performance House (Al Quoz), GulfSPort (near autodrome) and AUH (by Ducati).

And yes we will be testing the BMW this Friday morning.
