Hello

I may have to travel to Qatar in December for a few days work and just wondered what kind of plug socket I could expect in a reasonable hotel.

Looking on-line it would appear that they use an UK plug as well as a 3 pin rounded plug (Looks like mid 20th century UK).

Would anyone be able to confirm.

Cheers.

And 99% of the electrical goods you buy in the Middle East are fitted with a European-style two pin plug, forcing you to use some dubious Chinese-made adaptor to make it fit the socket. Or doing the classic trick of inserting a key into the earth socket to open up the gate on the other two and forcing it in!

Surprised there aren't more electrical fires here to be honest!

There was an announcement very recently that everything has to go to 3 pin from the start of 2012 here in the UAE

Won't mean fvck all but they announced it!
