Got a call yesterday from Du saying something about an invitation to an event and can we courier you the details. I thought it would be the usual guff you get.

As it happens, two VIP tickets to Paul McCartney at Yas on Sunday turned up!

That's a Bingo!

Nice one.

Was it in connection with a customer satisfaction survey they were conducting by phone?

No idea but I suspect its to do with the Wife taking a complaint to the top guys earlier this year.

To be fair, one of their directors personally dealt with the complaint once she had escalated it and got it sorted very quickly. Had it been Etisalat, she'd still be on hold...

nice result. i hear they gave away a day dune bashing with vettel and webber yesterday. much jam!

one of our seniuor managers and i were offered a 3 day pass to the GP with pit access earlier [we provide the power for race weekend]. he declined on both our behalfs, as "we're working sat/sun and it's pointless going just for free practice".

FML.

yep. not sure why really but it's the same for any major sporting event - world cup, olympics et al. must be to do with having a reliable power source and being able to channel it where needed. tv broadcasting eats power.
