lady and gents; as you may or may not be aware, our esteemed friend and celebrated raconteur mr dusty964 is engaged to be wed to his lovely fiancee rose, with the marriage ceremony to take place in Oz over xmas. i am afraid i just can't let this happen without taking him out beforehand to get roaring drunk it's your duty as Phers to join this celebration of alcohol, talking cod, and ogling ladies!

dusty is heading out to 'stralia on the 15th december. i have a previously booked holiday from 4th-14th which is immovable. prob best to have it before then anyway as it does take a while to recover from copious bullfrogs and we don't want him missing the flight

so, i would like to float the night of thursday 1st december as official pre-marital pissup. the 2nd is national day and the start of the rugby sevens, allowing ample opportunity to make a weekend of it

who's in? drinking buddies old and new are most welcome.

if your company works like mine, national day holiday will be arranged so that the day off is sunday, so plenty of recovery time.

I have a Friday off but work Saturdays, so in theory should be OK.

This is a yes from me in theory, only thing I need to check is when guests coming for the 7's arrive, think it is Fri morn which will be perfect.

I've already booked the Sunday off work, cannot risk not having the day after 7's off!

Just out of interest, but won't Thursday night be a DRY night, given its National Day the day after - thats how it normally works for holidays?????

i have no idea. guess we need to confirm that one way or another! i had heard that national day might be postponed due to it falling within the mourning period for the saudi crown prince.

For anyone else getting married- the only advice I can give is when your parents ask (having just visited with my lad) what is on the wedding list, 'a sports exhaust' is never the correct answer.
