Or is it full of the usual 4x4's and a few concepts?

Given it's the same weekend as the F1 in AUD and the Dubai Airshow I'm thinking of just popping along for a few hours after work on the Monday...

Will probably go, but then the OH will start looking at cars. Shame it is on after Eid.

sounds good to me, blag some test drives etc.

there's the classic car show on national day as well, they're closing emaar boulevard for that which should create some healthy traffic chaos.

The classic car show is worth a visit.

Two of the highlights from the last couple of years below, including my friend's immaculate Dino which took first place.

You can buy tickets from selected Eppco / Enoc petrol stations to save buying them at the event. Dhs. 50 a ticket.

Where you staying?

Edit - what in particular brings you, is there a world launch?

You'll probably spot more yootoob worthy stuff in the carpark and the malls!

Having the motorshow there is just an easy excuse to come and visit Dubai! There are a few world launches from tuning companies but nothing huge has been announced yet. I've never been there though and have always wanted to fill up my YouTube library with some clips of the cars you get at the Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates so will be doing plenty of that.

I'm booked to stay at Holiday Inn Al Barsha which I believe to be next door to the Mall of the Emirates and had a pretty good rate going, although I've heard internet connections in Dubai hotels aren't fantastic!

In any case it will be fun and hopefully throw in a little bit of tourism too smile

When are you arriving as we are racing at the autodrome this Friday and Saturday and so there should be tasty motors (2 and 4 wheel) around in the car park and on the track.

They'll be plenty of heavy metal on show over the course of the motorshow. Some stuff that hasn't been made public yet.

You'll have ample opportunity to get fodder for YouTube videos - two best areas would be Mall of the Emirates valet parking (outside Debenhams...) and The Walk in JBR.

Make sure you spent some time cruising around Jumeirah Beach Road at night too - local boys are always out and about in decent machinery.

T'internet connection is reasonably rubbish all over town, it's not that bad - but slow compared to the UK

I predict a vast array of 'modified' (butchered) Bentley GT's and SLR's then, that's the standard tuner fare here.

Internet here is (relatively) crap but it works.

I know that hotel, it is walking distance from MOE although just taxi, it's so cheap.

Fun will be easy, we can suggest some venues from the sublime to the ridiculous and everything inbetween!

Agreed, there was for round 1 and that was without the GT boys in attendance.

Yep that's where I'd head, never go to Dubai Mall but there seems to be a reasonable collection on weekend nights.
