Racce Day 2

This Friday it is Race Day 2 with the bikes, Gt's and touring cars out playing, action starts from 9am. You will find me with either the Triumph team or the white Honda Civic EP3.

I really should make the effort. It's a 10 minute drive and all I do on Fridays is log around the house or get roped into dull jobs by the Mrs.

The short the shorts the better, better wear some form of top though.

Right timing screen, stand, stop watch, tyre gauge etc and team gear sorted. Time for a quick cold refreshment!

Shirt, Gaffer, Sam & Chilli all took time out from their busst Friday schedule to visit the autodrome. Good to see you guys and girls.

A very trying day (we rebuilt the racing fuel tank (called a fuel cell) twice), but we came away with a podium finish in race 2.

Yep, next race day(s) are 3-5 Novemeber. I haven't scene the schedule yet.

Looks like finished 2nd in race 2 as one of the other drivers got dropped 5 places due to being under weight.

Which garage were you in? To be honest, the little one got annoyed at looking at cars standing still in the pits when he could have been watching the track instead so I only managed a quick hello to some folks.

That said, the GT race was quite disappointing. 8 cars with no overtaking.

great stuff, 2nd place from back of the grid must be heartening for the rest of the season. pity there's no betting here!

claire/mark - how did the buggy perform first run out?

Quite well considering it was a shake-down test race.

2nd overall, beaten by 1 second by some turbo thingy, however Mark got the fastest lap trophy.

So yea, a good day by all accounts.

Next one is this Friday, again in some sandy part of Dubai
