1970 911T, body restored in 2009 and fitted with a [non matching] freshly rebuilt 2.4s spec motor pushing out 190bhp. has a rebuilt 915 gearbox [not original, but an improvement], bilstein shocks, uprated discs, antiroll bars f&r, new headlining and guages etc. seat are a bit naff and i would want the exterior trim rechroming, but hey.
the guys's dad used to own this:
http://www.canepa.com/inventory/racecar_1/Bond_911...
and he made this one as a slight homage. graphics are vinyl though, so easily peeled off. it's his 7th 911 and he appears to know them well. the pics of it show it to be in excellent nick and is about to go into winter hibernation. he's got things like an original radio, trim bits, and some deep dish fuch's he'll throw in with a sale.
good bit: very clean car and only new seats and chrome away from being a killer looker. non original drivetrain means the price is equivalent to AED80k. originality doesn't worry me one bit.
bad bit: aircon will be $2.5k, oil coolers $1k, plus fitting, shipping and import duty. dithering over putting my money where my mouth is re: running an old car out here, but i think it's great value for money.

i know, i know.
he had a buyer confirmed who bailed out, but the guy did get a condition report done. i've just asked for this to be sent. i'm awaiting replies from the aircon/oil cooler people and trying to get a shipping quote.
on top of that i'll need to budget for import duty [5%?] and poss. tyres. i'm indecisive, but not rash. once i've got a total cost i'll make a decision.

i had a reply from rennaire this morning, they've just put a full a/c system into a 71 911T that previously had no a/c, and will be sending me pics and prices this week. tuthill's oil coolers currently looking the best bet.
my uk house is now rented so no mortgage to pay, and the AED is 3% up on the CAD from last week. maybe hand in pocket time soon.
