Hi All,

I'm new to the Middle East forum, but might become more regular if things work out.

My employer is looking for me to go to Dubai for a 3 year assignment at a reasonable level (around Dhs600k per year base salary).

What size of housing allowance should I expect to be on top of the salary? It looks like a family of 5 in Jumeirah will be paying around Dhs200k to rent a reasonable place, but I guess the employer should meet half of that?

I have also made sure we have flights home, car allowance, schooling and medical on top.

Many thanks

Rich

Betterhomes and Dubizzle are a good bet to check out the market.

What industry are you in?

Based on your salary and depending on your seniority I would expect somewhere in the region of GBP 30,000 per year in housing allowance.

Thanks guys. I have been checking out those websites to see what I can expect - I wish I had more money!

The industry is consultancy.

Many thanks

A lot of companies now do not give housing allowances.

Consultancy is not an industry...

I'd expect 25% of basic as a minimum - probably 35-40% if you're senior and a revenue winner
