I thought it was great to see Dubai on the big screen, but totally agree that the plot had just about every Dubai cliché you could think of.
I thought it was quite remarkable that the censors allowed the scenes of the Emirati kids drinking. Not the sort of thing that generally gets portrayed!

There was a scene where the main, er, Brit 'tt', was being a, well, a proper tt as the Indian chap was driving him in his taxi. I have been that man when grumpy/tired/drunk. Unfortunately.
Apart from that I thought it was good, if a bit simplistic and obvious in providing cannon fodder for Daily Mail writers. I'm surprised it didn't get more press in the UK during the downturn.
I thought the Emirati fable weaved into it was a bit obvious too.
