Not really sure how to explain this, so I'm just gonna go right our and say it.......

I bought the Mrs a Ford Expedition. There, I've said it......feel a bit better now.

To be fair, she wants something to haul a couple of horses around. She'll ruin any car she gets within a week, so spending 200k on a Durango didn't really appeal. So, for 109k, we got a brand new Expedition with a 5.4 litre lump, with plenty of poke. I took it for a test ride and couldn't believe how quiet and smooth it was...the rest of it was sh!t though.

Are we all still friends?

Have you tried towing anything?

2 guys on my old compound had a boat on a trailer that they shared.

Guy 1 had a Prado, you couldn't even tell there was anything attached to it
Guy 2 had an Expedition, struggle like hell!

Although the boat probably weighed more than a couple of 'osses

Sounds like reasonable value and will, no doubt, do the job.

I know what you mean when you say she'll ruin any car she's given within two weeks. My wife is slowly but surely wrecking my Golf after being given access to it a couple of months ago. Little dings appearing here and there on the bodywork, scratches on the interior etc. She doesn't even notice that it's happening.

I'm sure a Mustang with a towbar would've worked equally well wink

In fact I think to redress the balance, we will only forgive him if he fits a Whipple blower to the expedition, a 5.4l for lump, must be the Shelby GT500 block just without a charger!

I have no idea what you're talking about, but Whipples and blowers sound right up my street. Should I wax beforehand?!

I thought you were always baby bum smooth??

Stick one of these on and tell the missus to ignore the whine when she boots it!

Funny you should mention that, as when I boot the wife she generally stops whineing.

What, exactly, should he stick it on? There's an inviting black hole there but it looks a little aggressive...

p.s the Expedition could be the guilty pleasure of a lifetime - utterly flawed but awesome at the same time.

If you are still struggling to find a bike, come to the 1st race day on 7th October and speak to the bike guys. I will be there looking after one of the Vendetta racing Triumphs.

Well, it's got to the point now I'll just buy one, not even the one I want. Sick of looking.
7th October? well that's my B'day...the big 40, so I guess something special will be on the cards.

Sh!t...That's the first time I've written the big FOUR- ZERO.....................Mid-life, mid-life....MUST buy a sportsbike!
