Anyone attested a birth certificate in the UAE?

Need to attest my daughter's birth cert for her res visa. Just had a look online at this:

This cannot be right, surely?! Visiting three separate govt depts just to verify a doc? Anyone done it recently?

Last done about 2 years ago with some documentation for a clients property.

Was painful and the process sounds about right

I had to do it twice. Was not too painful, the most hassle is parking at the various buildings.

As it turned out, and in typical Dubai fashion, I was thwarted at the first hurdle: the Notary Public told me to go to Immigration. I told him they told me to come to him first! (And I certainly don't intend to drive all the way to Fujairah to be told to go back.) He then said go to the Embassy which definitely isn't the procedure on the official govt website. It's just so flipping random in this place.

Anyway, I will now throw this back at the PRO and tell him to get it sorted...
