Shipping to a PO Box?

Need to sort out the shipping of my stuff, have got a door-to-door quote, although I only have a PO Box for the destination.

Will that still work?

If it is like Dubai then PO Box will be at the Post Office so probably less than ideal.

Guess the resident Qataris will have to confirm

My experience in AUH was that normal post went to the PO box, but parcels/DHL etc had to go to the address (even if it was turn left at the 3rd roundabout, over the big dirt mound etc.

Just spoke to the shipping co, and they seem happy - they say the local agent will just call me anyway on arrival.

Probably. I can't speak for Qatar but when I left the UK for Dubai, they boxed up all of my stuff and shipped it here with nothing but a PO Box and my email address to work with. I ended up staying in temporary accommodation for six months so they kept my stuff in storage (in Dubai) until I knew exactly where I was living.

One quick phone call and they came and delivered it straight from their local warehouse to my apartment. I would have thought any decent international removals company would be able to arrange something similar.

i didn't have an address when i shipped my gear out. i just used works address for invoicing and arranged the actual delivery with the local agent. again, this was a 'opposite starbucks, above the cake shop' kind of address.
