Been in Bali for a week (which is AMAZING by the way), has anything interesting happened?

Shirt - Bought a car? Found a place to live?
Hitch - Made it a hat trick of LR2's?
Chilli - How's the equine venture looking?
Harris - Sold the Turbo?

I've found a place to live (al sahab 1 in the marina) and have an offer in at a dealer for a 964 c2. Offer is 10k below his 'best price just for you my friend' so hopefully I'll get a call in the next couple of days.

Was bali business or pleasure? I'm off to either there or sumatra next sunday.

Nice, you have slipped into the haggling way of life well then!

Is Sahab the one next to the Yacht Club? Very nice if so.

Bali was pleasure, a great week of doing not very much. Let me know if you need any tips!

Sahab is opposite the yacht club and at the other side is opposite jbr starbucks. Nice spot I agree.

Jammy for having a week of r&r, hold that 'zen' thought now you're back!

I dream of a week of R&R - the summer is getting to me now and it has only just begun!

Well, a few developments, none of them good.
Option 1 - Current local boss MUST have spoken to potential new boss and "had a word". He's now gone quiet and we haven't spoken for 2 weeks.
Option 2 - After having spoken to the wife of a certain HH Sheikh Al Maktoum, she decided it wasn't for her.
Option 3 - The last option...we're still waiting to hear from the big man. He emailed Lisa last week to say that he would be very interested, but we think he's since been on holiday. So, waiting, waiting, waiting.

Still looking at every car ever made. No business, it will be the Durango. A go with the business and it'll be a 50k 4x4 for her, and.....well, who knows, but it'll be luxurious and fast.

Wished I was on holiday.

Bugger...

Option 3 is THE big man? HH S M B R A M? If you get a green light from him then that's awesome, would negate any issues from the old boss!

Fingers crossed

hehe me too!

dxb - the dealer's come down 11k from his listed price and i'm 10k under as, whilst a lovely car, needs about 15k immediate spend in terms of service / tyres etc.

how did you find driving in indonesia? i'm visiting sites 350miles apart in sumatra and thought it'd be cool to drive it myself in a rented 4x4 rather than fly via jakarta/singa.

Am in the UK for a month so the turbo has gone to Paul Denby. I don't think he's got his trade licence yet so may have to try again when I get back.

I didn't, chartered a driver when I need to go anywhere far away, used taxis otherwise.

The roads are as you would imagine, fairly chaotic, although a lot better than Goa where I navigated a scooter around last New Year.

Not sure I would be able to face doing 350 miles on them, signage is worse than here and traffic can be awful, suck it up and fly!

got any pictures of the Porsche?

a car and driver seems to be all i'm finding, not the best option imo. flights are all via jakarta for the routes i need, which seems painful and dull. 8hrs off roading would be far better, but as a passenger i fear i'd go stir crazy!

as for the pork, these are the best i have:
