I've been hiring the mighty Honda Civic for a few months, but at 3400 a month, I was reluctant to get 2, which we need. So, Mrs C did a bit of investigating and managed to secure a Civic and a Yaris for 3600 a month, all in. Therefore, I canceled and returned the Thrifty car I was using and had 2 new ones delivered.

Imagine my surprise when they were also delivered by Thrifty! Almost 50% cheaper. No idea why.

I rekon I've got 2 more weeks to go.....The Civic is killing me. Mrs C loves, absolutely loves her Tiida. Rekons it flies around the bends and picks up quicker than the Civic!

Sounds like you two are closing in on proper cars - what's on the books?

Well, for me it depends on the latest business as Mrs C's has 2 things in the pipeline (leave it!).
Both of which would be good but 1 would see me happy to take out a loan to support the purchase. The other would be hugely more expensive and would therefore see me paying cash, which would halve the expense.
I'm sick of waiting now.

the tiida is well regarded as the best of the underpowered bunch in our office, followed by the mazda 3.

on the books for me is most likely dusty's 964. had been shying away from all auto pork but the tiptronic was miles better than expected and the car felt like i was wearing it. it'd also cost me less to buy than renting the honda for 12mths which is very hard to ignore. as a daily driver and first dubai motor [and first pork/first car over 200bhp] it seems almost ideal. god know i'd love a manual tho...

Already looked at that. I would rather have Harris's Turbo.

Renting costing how much????

My 6 litre V8 Lumina is only 3400, and that is loaded from 2500 due to excess milage.

I'm renting a Hyundai Accent (the brand new model) from Yasi for 1,800 a month. It's a little cracker. They did give me 2 st buckets before this one though.

It's called Al Yasser Rent a Car. Part of the Chevvy dealer. 3 year (actually 38 months) deal. You can have a CR8 for about 3500.
