Afternoon all,

I’ll be leaving the UAE (Abu Dhabi) in 3 weeks to return to the UK and I need to sell all the contents of my flat. I won’t be taking anything with me as I have a fully furnished house back home.

Are there any companies that will buy the furniture and white goods? I know that I can advertise items separately in the classified but to be honest I don’t want the hassle.

Chilli,

Fridge is not at all flash. Bought it cheap (but new) 3 years ago.

I would rather sell it all to one person / company if possible. Not looking for much but buyer must collect. Items include.

1. 3 seater and 2 seater black leather sofa
2. Double bed, pillows and linen
3. 36" TV
4. Two black coffee tables.
5. Persian rug
6. 3 sets of curtains (long drop)
7. Hoover
8. Fridge freezer
9. Washing machine
10. Microwave
11. DVD player
12. Ironing board and iron
14. Plates, bowls, cutlery, dish towers, scissors, bin bags, etc.
15. linen basket, coat hangers, etc
16. clothes dryers
17. Chest of drawers
18. bedside table
19. Plastic table and chairs (garden furniture type of stuff)

Probably a few other bits and pieces I have missed.

If you're really after one person to take it all as a job lot, then your best bet is www.takemyjunkuae.com. Though traditionally they take everything off your hands for nothing - and distribute it to those less fortunate etc - I just noticed that they do offer to buy things too.

There's a massive gap in the market for someone to setup a proper second-hand household goods company. Rent a big warehouse, get a few pickups/vans, buy up contents of desperate expats' flats/villas, sift through, sell on at a profit - sit back and count those dirhams...

Having downsized last week I can confirm those takemyjunk lot will take everything, even down to canned food.

White goods sell on dubizzle, I had 5 calls from the first fridge ad before I'd placed the second ad. Electronics generally will go if priced right.

Furniture proved nigh on impossible to shift, takemyjunk took of that. Dubizzle is a pain to list individually but if you can be arsed you'll recoup some cash, I made just under 3k from 2 fridges, 2 washing machines and a broken exercise bike.

We gave some small items to our security guards who were absolutely over the moon *insert warm and fuzzy feeling inside here *
