Selling cars in the UAE...what a pain!
Discussion
Saw this advert on Dubizzle for a Porsche 996 Turbo...reminded me of my experience when selling the 997 and also the ML350...
"Edited to add: man, now I remember why I don't sell my cars privately any more. Please don't ask me "What is best price" as my response may offend. If you can find a clean 996TT advertised for less, buy it. Seriously. If you are a trader, don't bother calling. Please. I honestly couldn't care less about the freight costs to Kinshasa and how I should reflect that in the "best price". The price reflects the mileage, but if that's too high for you, maybe it's better we don't waste each other's time. And breathe..."

Hehe. That's me, Paracetamol.
Since then, I've had surprisingly pleasant conversations/correspondence with genuine buyers.
Small spanner in the works though - I'm about to cancel my res visa before I leave for the summer. Anyone know if the RTA requires a valid res visa to sell a car? (In which case, I'm going to have to do it when I get back in August).

Not sure....it's a good question. Why are you cancelling your Visa?Since then, I've had surprisingly pleasant conversations/correspondence with genuine buyers.

I'm pretty sure that when I bought my cars the seller did not have to show his visa to the RTA. But to be fair, I was concentrating more on MY paperwork!I should add that that is in Al ain, nit Dubai, so is probably completely irrelevant!

I know to renew your Mulkiya you don't need a visa, not sure about transfer.
My old boy is selling his CLK in the next 2 days I'll get him to ask them.
Edit - just spoke to him, he should be transferring today, he will ask for you at the office
