Am I right in thinking a 2004 Grand Cherokee 2.7 is cheaper on road tax than a 2005 Cherokee 2.8 as the tax for big cars built after a certain date in 2004 have to pay the £400 something tax ??
The important date (as far as VED is concerned) is 23 March 2006 ie a vehicle registered between 1 March 2001 and 23 March 2006 with an CO2 emission figure greater than 255g/km will be charged at £260 for 12 months VED (£143 for 6 months).
