Do nut spltters work?

I bought some nut splitters as I have one or two nuts that aint going to shift in a month of sundays. (dont have a flame set)Do they really work, can you actually turn the splitter nut for the blade to cut through a real tough nut?

If you have clear access, they should work.

I've had good success, and when a splitter has failed Mr Noisy (angle grinder) comes out.

Work fine if used correctly.

Second only to the gas-axe.
