Hello,

I've been bought a Landrover Experience day, which I'll be doing in Devon, but I'm not sure which vehicle to take up.

I've been offered the following:

Defender 110
Freelander 2
Discovery 4
Range Rover
Range Rover Sport

I'm swaying towards the Defender (manual, no driver aids) and the Discovery 4 (auto with loads of driver aids). Any thoughts? All are new 2011 vehicles.

I'd appreciate any feedback please!

Dan

unless you're thinking of buying than i'd go for a V8 sport or full fat range rover- a lot of luxury, and a LOT of fun! its amazing what these things can do biggrin

Disco4. More comfortable and some rate it higher than the Defender off-road. The defenders are also a PITA to drive if you're tall.

Can't afford to buy one, just want to have a fun day out! I am quite tall, think I might go for the Disco 4 but the V8 RR is now tempting!

I've done one at Rockingham in a 110, there was a d3 going round and a rangie too. I'd think about what you want from the day. The disco is awesome off road and you'll enjoy the day but if you want to pick up some skills and learn more about actually driving off road then the 110 is the better truck IMHO, you'll need to use the right gear, difflock in or out etc etc it does have hdc and traction control though.

Great day if you have even a slight interest in 4x4's. There were a some guys from a utility co. on a training day when i went and they were really putting a disco through its paces. Impressive watching it through a set of axles twisters.

I did a complimentary one back in 97 in a D3 at the Pale Hall centre, Snowdonia. It was ace.

I also did another complimentary drive @ Eastnor castle a couple of years ago and drove the then new 110.

If I got the chance to do another it would either be in a D4 or RR sport.

You'll enjoy it i'm sure whichever vehicle you choose.

Depends what you want to get out of the day...

If you want to learn about driving off-road, improve skills or just fancy a bit more of a challenge, take the Defender.

If you just want a bit of a larf... Any of them. smile

Driven and rsced Defenders for many years off-road and on but last September I was out in Germany for a new tyre launch and we had new D4's which impresed me big time.

I would still rather have a Defender though or the wifes L/Cruiser.

Drive any and everything you can when someone else is paying for the fuel.smile
