Hi,

I'm trying to find some new wiper blades for my XJ Cherokee, I never thought this'd be so difficult.

After a couple of failed attempts I'm still no nearer.

It's the fitment which seems to be causing the issue. It uses a pin, but the pin is attached to the arm, like this:

So the wiper needs a plastic attachment with a little clip on like this:

Has anyone found a place that you can buy them from?

Can't help, sorry. The post '97 ones have more conventional wipers. Have you tried ebay?

Yep. Many seem to claim they have them, but then don't. I've got a wrong set at home now that need sending back. Halfords say no also frown

I'm sure years ago when you bought wipers you got a couple of extra plastic attachments in the box to cater for this type of fitment.

Try Service & Repair in West Mersea (Essex).... They've had quite a few Cherokee's themselves, and they've just replaced them on mine (they caused an MOT fail!).

Can you not change the arm for one from a facelift?

Maybe. I need to look into it, the current arm actually clips on rather than bolts. So I don't know if it's a direct swap or not.

WJ wiper arms bolt onto a splined shaft. I got flat wipers off the bay and the clips are similar?

I just got some for the front of my ZJ GC via Halfords. They are made by Valeo. Halfords list a Valeo wiper for the rear too, but its the wrong one. I know this because I got one from them, it didnt fit, the checkout numpty decided to check my story, tried it, it didnt fit and they had to give me a refund because the rear wiper assigned to my car via the reg plate look-up is just the wrong one.

Will ring Jeep stealer today.
