Bertone Freeclimber 1.6 petrol 1993
Discussion
Hi
Does anyone know much about the gearboxes on these cars?? Is it the same as you would find on a Diahtsu Rocky/Feroza. I know the car is basically the same as the Diahtsu but with the difference of having the BMW engine. If anyone knows about the gearbox could you let me know a.s.a.p. cheers

I'd never heard of them either, but a bit of digging around shows shows that they are based on a Daihastu with an E30 316i engine in!

I've got 3 Daihatsu Fourtraks, and work on them myself. I do know my way around Daihatsu gearboxes, but don't know if the Freeclimber shares the same box.
With Daihatsu, I prefer the old-style manual 2-4wd shift, not the electronically-switched ones, as they give a lot of problems, especially if you get into water at any depth.
What exactly do you need to know?
