I'm assuming we'll suffer less in trucks than a bloke on a 125! hehe

He didn't even get to the start of the river crossing though. Don't think that my V8 would like it much at that depth!

Treated myself to another Landy just before Christmas -

2 1/4 petrol, only 39,000 miles. Going to leave it in Cornwall at a cottage that I'm doing up with my Dad, but perhaps it needs a Surrey lane outing first!

Lol, as a trail rider this sort of thing happens- normally when its icy cold!

Notice he hit the kill button as soon as it got to the bottom of the tank - thats very important to remember as its hydro lock time otherwise and probably a dead engine.

He makes some great vids - I would have been inclined to get a stick and test the depth first though!

I can't think where that is? James, I'll bring the tow rope if you try it.

Oh. For some reason the link didn't pull through the marking on the map. It's about 2/3 of a mile South of the B2126 between Forest Green and Ockley on the A29.

The one that comes out near Mayes Green? If so, I never knew it was there and as its only a few miles from my place may try it out later in the week.

Not sure, but it's a continuation of an actual road, so put the name in google maps and it comes up.

My earlier post was a little misleading, as the actual lane doesn't start from the A29.

just be careful chaps- took an innocuous looking ford the other day (one i've been through many times in the past (in the summer anyway), and the water was over my wing mirrors (in a lifted landcruiser amazon on 35" MTs)- had to get a new pair of trousers when we eventually made it out.

a realy noob error (which you really shouldn't make after well over 15 years of off roading!)
