Hi all.

Been looking for this lane for a while, and can seem to find it.

I know its somewhere off the castleton road where you exit from Roych Clough, but not sure where.

Dont suppose anyone can help.

Thanks.

As you exit Roych clough at the eastern end (top end), chapel gate is on your left within 100 yds. BUT CHECK FIRST!! as they are looking to TRO this any time now! and if you do drive it, be aware there are a few big rocky steps, DON'T go off piste please.

Excellent thanks, we have been looking for a while. I knew it was round there somewhere. As for going off piste, I wish I was brave enough!

Chapel Gate is trashed
Its a horrid rutted track and has been for a few years
Not bad from a challenge point of view though
Leaving it fallow for a while can only be a good thing

And going off piste?????
Are you kidding?

Green laning gets enough bad publicity without idiots ruining it for the rest by driving off road irresponsibly
The current state of play on Houndkirk Moor being a case in point - an area of moor including nesting for rare birds the size of a couple of football pitches just trashed by a bunch of thoughtless fools wanting a bit of a play without stopping to think of the mess they are making and the backlash it will and has brought to the sport

And relax smile

So do you know of any other good routes in the area? Done Roych a couple of times but not really sure of any others.

theres been recent talks on the grape vine that chappel gate and stanage edge are being tro,d i heard this last week we drove afew in derbyshire last week and there was afew police on trials bikes checking lanes, what there doing now is if youve been on a any lane that is tro,d you loose your motor there and then plus its cruched plus your taken to court sooner or later all lanes will be closed to vehicles, pay and play will be the only option and that may be stopped if people complain about that

Have you tried Totley Moor?

Been over it on my MTB and its a byway I think.

Parts are in a terrible state though with very deep ruts and places where people have bypassed the deep parts.

to be very honest m8 i havent no becarful thou m8 there closing alot of lanes and there not telling anyone a few people have been caught out that way check and double check befor ya drive them.
some great lanes out there but the goverment keep closing them and while there closed they level them off we did a few around derbyshire a couple of weeks ago and found they had put fresh gravel down to fill in the holes. i think there doing it so there boaring to 4x4 drivers but that will make some make there own lanes and that will cause more agro. do you do much laning?
