There's also 4x4 without a Club in Aldermaston - http://www.4x4-withoutaclub.co.uk/ They do a pay & play every second Sunday of the month. Lots of different trails from easy through to down right crazy! Dependong on work commitments, I might be taking my old truck there in February - you're welcome to tag along if you want to get muddy for a day.
Im down in Andover, spend a lot of time on The Plain. Was out over Christmas, even managed to get access to Imber (public open day). Green Lanes in and around Hampshire are fast becoming restricted byways as the greenies see the 4x4 a threat to the countryside. added to this the number of idiots that go and buy a cheap 4x4 and then go and conquer the great outdoors regardless of the restrictions in place, and they are only going to diminish further.
as previously mentioned, there are a number of clubs around, we've been to most of them and they are very good.
If you ever want to go and sample Salisbury Plain, the best recommendation would be go with someone that knows the places you can and cannot go.

Thanks for the invite, definitely keen if you are going and I'll be buying the bacon sandwiches. Very kind.schmalex said:

I read this thread last week and by coincidence happened to drive past today so called in to have a look. Fantastic bunch of people who were really helpful and even got taken out for half an hour or so around the courses by one of the marshalls, which was an exercise in terror, excitement, and incredularity in about equal measures. All very well organised with well marked areas/courses showing the difficulty of each section, and a wide range of vehicles from almost unmodified upwards. Would thoroughly recommend going there and will definitely be trying to arrange for something to take there for February's meeting.

Fortunately, I managed to have a good couple of hours playing without breaking anything on the truck (a real turn up for the books!).
Shame you didn't see us - I would have turfed my passenger out & given you a run around as well (although, I guess you were in one of the marshal's Disco's - they really know how to drive those things!!!!).
Mine is a B reg Landy (in fact, I think it was the only 88" S3 up there today), with a PH sticker on the back.....
