which 4x4 for towing and a daily driver

Right further on from my what 4x4 for 2k, i have had a rethink, instead of having a crappier daily driver and a tow car thought it would make more finanial sense to buy just one nicer vechile that can do everything

id need to tow my trackcar (around 800kg+ trailer), carrying out daily driver duties and a bit of subtle offroading to, once again free lander is my intial thoughts, but cant the vunrible k series handle that, or shall i look for an argueably worse condition TD4, with my £4500 to spend

obviously this purchase wont be made for the next couple of months unless something amazing arrives because of the current prices of 4x4 in this weather

On that budget a TD5 Disco would be a lurvely place to be.

800kg+ trailer doesn't need a 4x4. You could tow that nicely with most large cars. A6 quattros have 1900kg capacity for example.

Having said that, if you're looking at Freelanders then look at Shogun Pinin (or Pajero Jr). Same idea as teh freelander but with low range gears and locking centre + rear diffs. 1500KG towing.

i agree, but anything worthy of note for like the a6 quattro for example, is far far more that a 2004 freelander
