So I'm seriously thinking of getting a 4x4 and I was looking for a lighlty modded one (lift and tyres probably to start) but I am having a heck of a time getting sensible insurance quotes.
Had my eye on a modified Jimny which is £300 to insure standard but £900 with wheels and suspension lift!

I came across Frank pickles insurance for modded 4x4 but apparently its not modded enough (go figure!)
Can anyone recommend a good insurer or even a club to joing that qualifies you to use the likes of Frank Pickles?

Thanks
GB

Yep. Same here. No NCB to carry over but I got mine for 235 on limited mileage policy

Yep, in fact, my Samurai was cheaper with mods than without... And they insured it as a classic, much to my OH's chagrin!

Thats easy, just go and modify it some more!! biggrin

Ive just insured my 90 through Frank Pickles and found them very competitive and helpful but then again my 90 is heavily modded.

Adrian Flux. My 90 costs £115 a year, with reasonable mods but they don't like winches and roll cages - well, they do but I've been told it will increase the premium.
