Buying a Grand Cherokee 2.7 crd

Can anyone point me somewhere on the net where I could find a buyers guide to these models? Failing that can anyone offer what to look for, I can do the basic mechanical checks, hpi and all that stuff, but what is of special note for these?
My budget would get me a 2005 model.
So far Ive read that a good and proper service history is very important as the diff's need regular fluid changes. Ive been told there can be a problems with the EGR (Exhaust gas recycle valve?) but it wasnt explained in detail. Ive heard the auto boxes can fail, but thats maybe down to bad luck rather than bad maintenance?
Would this model suffer from the disc warping (like my mates 3.1 did) or was it sorted by then?
