Oops lol, gotta update that lol.

Now running a suzuki vitara fatboy.

Having 10" wide wheels 31" tyres are all I can fit if I want to avoid stretch lol

I don't really understand what you mean.

31" refers to the overall diameter of the tyre and wheel it is not a measurement of the width.

If you have a 10" wide wheel then that would not restrict you in the diameter of tyres you can fit. You could fit a 35" x 12.5" if you had enough clearance and the tyre came in your rim size. Ten inches is a pretty wide wheel.

The wheel is a 15x10 deep dish chrome jobbie.

The only mud tyres I could find wide enough start at 31x10.5 r15

All the smaller tyres are narrower, and will have me looking like a dubber with all that stretch lol

If I fit standard width steelies, the huge wide arches will make the car just look rediculous! Lol

here she is

Most ladder chassis 4x4's have the body tub mounted on bushes or posts. Body lifts simply extend these and lift the body up off the chassis a bit.

It has certain merits (mostly cost on purchase) and is favoured or hated by different 4x4 groups for various reasons.

Oh ok, so they don't actually increase ground clearance, just make more space in the arches for bigger tyres?

They increase ride height, so yes more clearance for tyres. It potentially improves approach and departure angles, but would depend on the vehicle in question and if the bumper is part of the chassis or not.

Advantages include not raising centre of gravity, disadvantages include body mounts under greater stress. In the Jeep world such a mod is frowned upon as the body mounts can fail when raised to high. Also issue with rad, gear linkages and such can arise. And vehicles sometimes look odd.

fitting bigger tyres will give me better ground clearance under the axles.

i will be lifting the suspension 3"in too when i find a set of grand vitara springs for cheap enough ( 1.5in lift, with a set of spring spacers ( i.5in lift )

lol its one of those freebies that is actually really useful as it stops the jack handle from clattering around all over the place- essential if you keep the jack in the car, and pretty useful if bolted to the outside!

a couple of inches under there will make it perfect. Do you need wheel spacers for the 31x10.50's or is the off set of the 10" rims sufficient to allow full travel of the steering - I notice the 10.50's are proud of the wheel.....

No chance! Lol.

Can't fir the 31" to the front untill I pull my finger out and bolt on the bodylift ( soooon! )

If I fit the front 31" without lifting I simply won't be able to turn lol.

It would look great but id be limited to going to the bottom of the road and back again!!

The 31" were the smallest tyres I could fit that were wide enough to fit the wheels I have, but I had them fitted to the 6" wide wheels on my jeep cherokee before so no worries there

And no spacers have been fitted, the wheels are just bloody wide lol
