Hi All,

I have a Sunday without the family on the 15th of August. Does anyone want to go out and play? I've been looking for pay & play days in Surrey/Sussex/Kent/Hants/Berks on the day, but have failed miserably, so I'd be open to suggestions on where to go?

Anyone know what's legal on Salisbury Plain and fancy giving a tour, maybe?

Brick kiln sounds good! I hadn't managed to find any pay and play days myself. Do you have a link at all?

I've only got very intermitent web access on holiday at the moment, but have mapped out pretty much every bylane in Surrey as a fall back position!

It may be worth cross-referencing the byways with this website http://www.way-finder.org.uk as that has been partially checked with various councils definitive maps (DMS). Although it's not the easist website to work with! When I get some maps I'll be going through this as well.

If your heading onto the plain, 2 things I would recommend, first, stop by the police station at Larkhill, they can direct you to what Byways are open and which are closed.
They can also point you in the direction of any mud ... if its about, also, take a note and keep hold of this number ... 01980 674700 - MOD Plain Watch ... and 01980 674763 - MOD Range Control.

Both will beable to advise you if the Ranges are open (ie thre is no firing planned).
as a courtesy, if your entering / leaving the ranges, let them know.
