Hi all

I picked up my first off roader yesterday. Very please with it. I've just got back from trying some local green lanes too! Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Spec:
2" Lift. With pro comp shocks and extended springs.
Dislocation cones.
Insa Sahara off road tyres.
Suspect but functional home made snorkel. hehe

£975 with 12 months mot and 6 tax.

Bargain! You could probably get a couple of hundred back for the number plate aswell assuming it came with the car.

Fly in the ointment, and the reason I have not edited the number from the pic, is that this plate will be going back to the owner next week when he gets the relevant paperwork through! smile

Very nice, but I don't think that tarmac counts as laning:;)

hehe Quite True. This was after I cam back from the lane, before joining the main road.

The bird in the picture commented as she walked past "you have a very strange hobby", referring of course to the fact I parked up and jumped out to point my camera at it!! biggrin

Nope! After turning up to the other one I showed the guy the thread and told him I was 'slightly emotional' when I bid. He was not overly happy with the price it went for as he'd been offered more. We agreed to go our separate ways. I'm very happy with this one though, previous owner runs a body shop so every usual rust spot has been treated. Including that boot floor!

Yes, I did have it HPI'd by a friendly PH'er before buying from someone who repairs.cat c's and d's for a living.

Never seen the front of a disco boot floor under the seats where it meets the axle box?
nor have most owners! they turned to rust & fell out days after the things were originally sold.

the loaf? cheaper than custard i guess hehe

The boot floor is easily fixed for little cost and isn't structural, so it doesn't really matter.

I thought the boot floor and it's proximity to seat belt mounts made it a potential MOT failure point if excessive?

belts mount goes through floor to the chassis the floor is non structural and is not a mot fail if rusty

Only if your MOT man is a pillock, see the post above for why.
When I had a disco the boot floor was 25% missing for years. I ignored it as amongst other things it made wading easier - the water got in quicker so the car didn't float as much.
