Disco with ARB removed for lifting. Can I buy longer ones?

I'm so excited, like a child at christmas today. I picked up my first off roader today.
It's a Land Rover Discovery 200 TDi, 93 on a K plate and is in decent nick, it came with every MOT, FSH etc etc and I paid just £975 for it.
Anyway, the Disco has had a lift kit and some off road tyres fitted by the previous owner, extended shocks, dislocation cones etc. The one thing I noticed on the return journey today is the MASSIVE body roll. Now i'm not expecting great on-road dynamics, it's an off-roader after all, but it was so bad it's sort of unnerving.
The reason for the excessive roll (I believe) is because the Anti Roll Bars have been removed. So, two questions really:-
1. can I refit ARB's to improved the body roll
2. If so, will this affect the off road ability of my Disco?

Anti roll bars limit the amount the axle twists under the car - this negates the extra axle travel from the lift kit. Plus I've seen the knuckles invert & jam in such situations.
I have seen quick release kits for the ARBs, damned if i can think where from though. So you can drive with it on, get to the playground, unclip it & tie it up out the way.

Personally if you want it for off road use then I wouldn't refit ARB's. They will only limit axle articulation off road.I'm so excited, like a child at christmas today. I picked up my first off roader today.

In the US you can buy quick release setups, so you can disconnect the ARB's for off road use, still a little fiddly though.
As for the Disco, well it's worth noting many Disco's didn't come with ARB's, or even the brackets to mount them, same as many/most Defenders.
The body roll should not be too bad, it might take a bit of time to get used to it, but apart from the feel of it, it should still be capable on road.
If it isn't, then it's probably due to the springs, so a slightly stiffer spring might be worth trying out.

Loon it into bends, stamp on the brakes then floor it. It's amazing how far over they go as the inside rear lifts off the floor I never did that with mine, oh no thats silly

I have the same, the disco that I bought didn't have the ARB fitted, it was bloody dangerous at motorway speeds, so I refitted a front one, leaving the rear axle to do it's thing with the dislocation cones etc. It's much more stable now, I no longer have any issues at motorway speeds, and it still performs great off road.I'm so excited, like a child at christmas today. If you're not happy with the handling, just fit a front one.
PS. Also make sure that it has heavy duty track control arms etc fitted, the standard ones easily bend upsetting your steering geometry.
