Tyreweld will sort it,but given it is only a bead leak i'd just get it to a tyre shop and have it sorted properly,I doubt it will cost much more than £10-15.Are your alloys corroding beahind the beads by any chance?

How do you know there's no damage?

I had a similar problem on a car wheel a while ago. The impact had caused a hairline crack in the wheel. Even once the wheel had been properly cleaned you could barely see it, but it was enough to let the air leak out over time.

I'd get it to a tyre fitter and ask them to check for all of that sort of stuff.

Or get a spray bottle full of washing up liquid/water mix and do it yourself for nowt.I carry one on the Unimog for tyres mainly, but as you can imagine, the gearbox/4x4 system/difflocks/brakes are all air operated,so I carry a few bits to make life easier.

I think I would've been a long time waiting! The tyre was going flat over the course of about 5 days, so wasn't exactly bubbling out of the crack!!!

That will still show up.You get a very fine foam around the bead.My CJ has one that needs doing. It takes about 20 days before it looks like it needs air.Don't underestimate the power of the soap solution dude..

Usualy due to mud/sand/rocks betwen tyre and rim. Requires remove tyre clean wheel with wire brush and refit tyre
Wheel will eventualy be too bad to fix thats why most serious off roaders use a cheep set of steels and keep the aloys for best
