Question.

Are they actually the same with different badges?

Would you buy either to tow?

Well regarded towing vehicles as far as I am aware. Also, pretty much identical as far as I know. PaddynMurphy on here has got one and seems to like it, I know there is supposed to be an issue with one of the diesel variants, but I'm afraid I can't elaborate.

Seem the same the 3.1Intercooled TD is the one to go for avoid the smaller 3.0 think it has issues.
Just run a petrol LWB as a dog car for two years sold for £50 more than I paid for it. (£750)

I had one of the earlier SWB 3.1 diesel Troopers.Old school tech but not a thing bad to say about it.Good starter, torquey, pretty good economy, and nothing went wrong in 3 years and 60 k miles.I too sold mine for slightly more than I paid for it, mileage included, and this was on the strength of the newer 3.0 Troopers blowing themselves to bits, and Isuzu generally being an arse about taking it on the chin!

My friend has a monterey which is the same year as my trooper, the mechanics are all the same but the monterey usually have a higher spec such as headlight wipers and washers, air con etc

If you buy the 3.1D, blank the egr's and disconnect the cold start switch
