My boyfriends just bought himself a suzuki samurai, he p.x'd his old p reg micra and £200 for it. Its a K reg, the exhausts had it, there was no windows in it when he bought it (fixed now) and there was a problem with the lift pump and a few fuses. I really have no idea about this jeep but i cant help thinking he has been ripped off. He says they are amazing vehicles offroad and thats the reason he has bought it. Anyone own or have owned one? Im only asking because i want to know if they are any good or has he been done?
Thanks for help guys (:

Basically, for that kind of price... if it actually drives, that is a bit of a bargain.

Great little offroaders by all accounts.

Compared to modern cars it is going to take a beating but for raw fun they are tops thumbup

I wondered when the clip first started why he had lights on top of the bonnet. I saw why after about 30 seconds!

For that money its probably fked and will need welding for its next mot, as for being good off road, they are only as good as the who, where, what, when, why on the day its out and about, one day it will be utter st and get stuck in every rut and mud hole and being pulled out by Defenders, other days it will run rings around a Defender or similar vehicle, for cheap off road thrills then you can't really look past the SJ as bang for buck they can't be beaten and if I was in the market for a small off road toy it would be an SJ awesome little things, although you need to do a bit of work to them to make them less girly

I had a sj410 4 speed for my 1st car. it was a commercial but i fitted the larger half of a split fold seat from a metro. it was doing 4k rpm at 55 but I had it everywhere and it never missed a beat over 15k. good memories.

I had a SJ410 Santana as a first car, 5speed, but nothing teaches you to plan ahead like *that little power* (55bhp iirc?) and somewhat high centre of gravity.

Good memories indeed...

I've had an old 1990 Samurai JX down here on the farm for years, goes everywhere, never got it stuck yet! I've actually just stuck it on Ebay today, no idea what it's worth?

I was thinking of buying one, you're much closer than most I've looked at. PM or post details?

It's on Ebay guys, it's white, and it's a 1990 Samurai JX, there's only one. PM me if you want to come and look at it, it's got no tax or MOT, the link to picks are on Ebay. Bit of detail there too

Ah, I didn't see it as ebay had restricted my search field to 60 miles... I might have a sneaky bid on that! Unless you want to give it away for a song to a PH'er! biggrin

Where has it been stored whilst on the farm, outside or in a barn? Looks clean and rust-free so guessing inside.

It's not completely rust free, near side wheel arch is rotten, small hole in the front edge of the bonnet, and a little patch on the roof. It will no doubt need work for the MOT, but it drives fine. Would benefit from a service obviously, but if you're half decent with spanners i bet it wouldn't take much for the MOT. I used it all through the snow period this year, from my house down to the farm is only a couple of miles on back roads, it was great. I ended up pulling about 15 peoples cars out for them. I'd keep it and use it but have no need for it anymore, i used it for carting wood waste up to the top field to burn, but we have to get rid of the waste in a container now, so it's redundant. I have two many vehicles as it is, vans etc.... It's worth a punt, it's really not that bad, a bit of TLC and you're away. Or strip it, jack it up, and just use it off road.... The engine is sweet, gearbox etc is all good, heater etc works fine. Needs some wiper blades, and i bet it could do with bushes and track rod ends etc etc, other than that it's fine. Come down and drive it, you can make your own mind up. My company web site is in my profile, you can find the address there

Well, £350 is too bad for something you have no use for. Hope you don't get messed about by the winner... smile

I nearly had a bid, but SWMBO stopped me...!

Can't complain i guess, it would have sat there forever otherwise! Hope it goes to a good home. What does SWMBO mean?
