sorry mate they are not the best that land rover do, but they are much better than most.

clarkson showed that they are not that bad, and my next door neighbour has one, and he is out on building sites all the time for his job, his old car got stuck all the time, but he very impressed with the sport, just wish i could afford one.

WTF is that 110 driver doing? clearly not heard of safe failed hill recovery routine- he'd have been safer cadence braking back down the hill out of gear than doing what he was doing.

Having been on expeditions across the pyrenees with a RRS G4 (ie with a rear locker) i was amazed at their competence- i'll dig a vid out somewhere- can see that they would be massively useful as a competition truck with a bit of tinkering. Its no quite as good as something like a G wagen or a landcruiser 80 but its not a million miles off.

wish they would sort out the quality issues though.

RRS is no worse a vehicle off road than any other LR product. Tyres are what makes the difference. Put a decent set of nobblies on them and you'll find they're bloody good!

A few years back I remember reading an article in a Land Rover magazine where they put some babcross tyres on a new Range Rover (I think it was the P38 type) and took it off-roading. I think the biggest fear to overcome is damage to all the lovely bodywork.
