I'm looking for something along the lines of a Jimny, Pinin, Fourtrak. I'm in the Midlands near Birmingham/Derby/Tamworth/Burton/Wolverhampton and yet there seems to be virtually nothing that's not 60-70 miles away, which is quite a trip if you're just starting to look and want to go walk a few forecourts.

I'm guessing it's simply the time of year when people buy and few sell?

Anyone know any specialists in cheap 4x4's in my area?

Can't help but a mate who works in the auto trade was telling me the snow has resulted in a 1k increase over book price for seconhand 4x4s.

I half expected that, what's got me is the total lack of vehicles to even go look at, it's literally as if there's nothing out there, yet bizarrely "up north" and "down south", where they had the bulk of the bad weather, there are plenty advertised.

eBay - 3 Pinin's within 55 miles.
Autobay - 1 Pinin within 40 miles.

Seems crazy.

I could list at least 10 Land Rover sales specialists in the Midlands quite easily. Other 4x4 specialists seem thin on the ground.

Anything would be appreciated, I think anything LR would be a bit too big except a Defender and I'm not sure if that's a little too basic, but they may take others in P/X so worth a butchers at the websites.

The others are all in the Peak District which may be too far?

Hi, I don't know if this will be any use to you but www.oodle.co.uk is like a search site that will notify you by Email of any new listings of anything. Punch in your details of the types or models your interested in and it notifies you. You can view loads that are already listed and opens many doors to garages that you are not familiar with and private listings etc.Give it a try as it helped me. Regards FFF

Yeah I have to agree, I mean who honestly buys a Pinin, they're crap, buy a SWB Pajero, or a Jimny

Parking space is a real issue though, length in particular - I did start off thinking SWB Paj but too big.

Yep a lot have sold, as said last of the old Shape Grand Vitara up to 05 is a very good option and there are a lot about. Probably why they sold in great numbers. Standard mode of Transport in the Caribbean.

What's wrong with Pinins? They're much cheaper to run than a Paj but are also capable off-road.
