It appears I can switch from 2 wheel drive to part time 4 wheel drive whilst on the move. My question is, can I switch to perminant 4 wheel drive whilst on the move? There appears to be a dog-leg on the shifter to perminant 4 wheel drive & I was thinking that maybe that was there to stop you accidentaly going from part time 4 wheel drive to perminant 4 wheel drive whilst on the move. I'd appreaciate you comments guys.

yes you can, get to about 10-15mph then move it into perm 4wd. display on dash should say full time 4wd (or similar).

if by any chance it wont go then I found putting normal box in neutral then back to drive then selecting 4wd seemd to work.

It can make some horrible grinding noises if you get it wrong!

Thx for that I'll have to give it a go then, just thought I'd ask as I didn't really fancy just mashing the box!! BTW I used to have a gold X1/9!!! Great little drivers car, like you say, gets faster as bits fell off, but I do find myself looking for a 1300 lido on occasions!
