Insurance for 19 year old
Discussion
Except that he's 19 and wont be able to get a classic policy untill he's 21 and when he did he would not get any no clams with it. Just ring everyone you'll eventually find a decent quote. Are there any modifications they will affect the price to alot leave it standard for the first year at least

I dont have any no claims bonus as im only a named driver on car. the land rover has a lift and a schnorkel but i didnt plan on telling the insuance about the mods.
I assume its Sean Connerys' Land Rover with a schnorkel fitted? Not telling the insurance company amounts to one thing and one thing only, thats fraud, it is illegal not to tell them as if you hit something it means your cover is null and void as you have breached the terms, I will also assume that although being a named driver on the other vehicle you aren't the main driver, ie you haven't fronted the policy by putting it in your mum and or dads name, you as a named driver, its your car and you drive it all the time, if so I wouldn't mention this on here, as it wont go down well, as thats also fraud and illegal.
Now the thats done, wrt to a Land rover and insurance, a few things that might be worth considering, it doesn't matter what the vehicle is worth, its how much the insurance company might have to pay out in the event of a crash, so they look at the vehicle, then cross reference that vehicle with younger drivers, if the stats are high you will get expensive insurance.
Legal ways of getting your policy down
Bigger excess
Less mileage, dont lie they can check with mots
Less valuable vehicle
TPFT
Add your mum and dad as named drivers you as the main
Tell them about any mods usually not much to do add mods
Check what category your post code is and be prepared to fit an alarm, as landies get stolen quite a lot
To be honest you should of started your own policy by now as you get ncd, im only 22 but a landie is like £300

Not true - look at Adrian Flux's website, it mentions young drivers and even mentions a quote for a 19 year old on the homepage! But yes he wouldn't get any NCB this way. Last thing you want to do is lie to the insurance company - very stupid idea - if you want to do that, you might as well just not have insurance - its illegal either way!

oh maybe not telling the insurnace is a bad idea then. and the car im insured on now is my mums so i hardly ever use it. looks like ill have to bite the bullet and pay it
Add mum to your quote.Be honest with mods.
You don't want insurance to decline a payout because you lied!

Take the mods off. Fit heavy duty range rover springs they'll lift a 90 about an inch and a half and being a standard landrover part they dont count as a modificationWest4x4 said:
