Hi all.

After doing some off roading in my freelander, ive caught the off road bug, however due to space and laziness i cant be bothered with 2 sets off wheels, one for road and one for off road.
So looking to fit bfg at's as they have a good reputation for off road grip but also on road manners.

Car does a general mix of town and motorway driving and some off road as well.
However due to standard tyres and freelanders relative low ground clearance it has been mostly mild stuff that has been tried.

Need them for 16 inch 215/65/16 freelander alloys.

Where is the best place to buy them?
Any recommended companies i should look for?

Cheers Alan smile

Hi Alan,

Could you tell us where you are? I've a great local company in Gloucestershire that beats Black Circles (the usual recommendation) but that's not going to help you if you live in Aberdeen smile

I got a good deal from paddock spares for BFG AT's for my old defender a year or two ago...

Paddocks do 225/75/16 tyres for £89 plus vat. Not bad a price but I'm not sure if they will fit a 215 rim though. It's only 10mm in it, it should fit right?

If so then i'll try and get 5 tyres bought without the vat and get them fitted for October. Can sell the 17s that are on it to get some cash back smile

The most popular fit we find is 215/70x16 which is a little larger than standard (215/65x16).
We find the General AT2 is about the best available, if you are intrested I could give you a price, have been in 4x4 tyres for 20 years, look at my profile.

Andy.

I think that's a good price for an odd size tyre.

That a great price, just make sure they are not to old, ask them to show you the build date, they will know where it is on the sidewall of the tyre.

Andy.

That's who I use, but I have always booked through Black Circles. Will go direct next time!
