Experience I have had all cheap winches last about 2 pulls. If you want one to look bling buy cheap. I you want it to work buy somthing decent. I have had an X9 for 6 years with no problem

i do quite a lot of off roading in my 90 these days, i certainley dont want bling i want something functional. im just not sure a 500 - 600 quid winch is worth all the extra money?

Goodwinch TDS- really very very good winches. not too expensive, seem very reliable even under competition use (although most get used as rear or centre winches).

Warn or Superwinch are the only one's to have.Buy 2nd hand as you can fix these winches your self, lot's of firms do part's and you can all ways get your money back if you want to sell.

Here is my 90 fitted with a 8000lb Husky Superwinch,5.6HP Bowmotor,Dyneema Rope, aluminium hawse,Allbright solenoid (a must) and Lodar radio remote control which all came from Dave Bowyer fitted 6 years ago and has had one oil change and a clean up in it life and is still working 100%,I have had 3 ropes, I use this winch setup for recovery work as well as offroading.

I have seen them for a while on 'bay.
Rated at 12000 lbs is a decent pull.
OK, you should be able to expect an effortless pull of say 50% power at 6000 lbs.

For that price, I would say they represent good value.

i really would like a warn or a superwinch, but finding a second hand one is the trouble! ill have to get on the 'bay and have a look! is 8000lb a powerfull pulling rate? what are you capable of recovering with that dort of power?

Nice cheap winch but for real work go for a super or warn winch they will last a lot longer.

Depends what you want to use the winch for and when you want to use it. Have you considered these.
