Defender Experience
Discussion
Get in touch with Land Rover Experience.
They will tell you where your local "experience" centres are, and which ones currently have defenders. ( they change vehicals frequently ).
As said, it will be a good intro to off roading, but very tame if you have done it before.
It will be a very good way of getting to know a defender, and much more informative than taking one from a dealer for a test drive. (Since you specified a defender, I guess thats what you want out of the day).

Have done the LR 'experience' in a D3 and Freelander 2 - as has been said if you're used to off-roading it will feel tame. I found it very interesting due the the terrain response stuff that they now fit. As you're after a Defender one that wouldn't be covered.
Go to your local dealer and make buying noises - that's how I was invited.

I have been luckly to have driven a few Unimogs so know a little bit about them, offroad whey must be the best if it was not for there size most lanes or offroad courses are landrover size they are just to big also is there top speed now my 90 is not what you can fast but the Uni is even slower.I use my 90 for work which is a small recovery busines again the Unimog is to large to get in carparks etc and to slow to cover my area, for all that I love them. The one 4x4 I have never had a would like is the G wagon which gives a 90 a very good run for it's money,I follow a "G" on last years Trophee Cevenol it was a unmodified but coped well on a very hard course. Please could you put up some pictures on here, would nice to see Uni in action.Heres mine.
Hi. Ive had a series 3 land rover 75 model. with a range rover 3.5 litre emgine which has seased to run. B4 it stopped it started making a loud ticking noise and lost majority of power to engine. underneath hood had lots of oil on it. did not overheat really ,, drove through a massive puddle off road ..few minutes later strange ticking noises start.
Any help would be greatfuly accepted

it you're really lucky you have just blown one or both head gaskets
if not you may have anything from cracked heads to a smashed crank.
